Miller's Analogy Test (MAT): A high-level mental ability test requiring the solution of problems that are stated as analogies. The MAT is used by graduate schools to assist in the assessment of applicants.

online degree: A degree that is granted to a person who completes a course of study online.

on-the-job training: Training that is given in a normal working situation and that uses the actual tools, equipment, documents and/or materials that a person will use when fully trained.

original research: Research that is not exclusively based on a summary, review or synthesis of earlier publications on the subject of research. The purpose of the original research is to produce new knowledge rather than to present the existing knowledge in a new form.
